Master Plan

At the May 13th meeting, a handout that outlines the first six to eight months objectives in implementing the Master plan, was distributed and discussed . This out line is attached to the minutes of the May 13 th meeting. If you would like to volunteer to facilitate one of these initiatives email us. The Master Plan, in its entirety, is available on the web site. .

Lake Entrance Signs

Several responses to the Master Plan Survey suggested that the entrance signs to the City Lake be upgraded as part of the beautification plan. Bill and Jane Swofford and a few able helpers have refurbished the signs and completed plantings to accent the signs. The plan also includes maintenance of the plants. If you would like to assist with, or be part of the maintenance program, please email us at cglakeassoc@yahoo.com. And include your contact information, such as phone or email.

The following is from Bill and Jane Swofford: “ We'd like to thank the following people for their help in the establishment of the entrance sign flower beds: Curt Brungardt, Cary Bryant of TC Tel. Co,, George Forrester, Buck Hayes, Gallan Honas (for the loan of rebar cutter), Andy Hutter, Ronnie Patterson, Tammy Stevenson, Don and JoAnne Telford, Tim Tyner (and his wonderful mean green machine),

We are looking forward to working with the Green Thumb Club members in maintaining them throughout the summer.”

Fourth of July Celebration

"The CG City Lake's Fourth of July festivities will be held on Saturday, July 1.  In addition to the popular boat regatta, additional activities are being planned.  Watch for details in the June newsletter, as well as on the lake association's website: cgclakeassoc.org If you would like to volunteer to help organize and implement these activities, call Christie Brungardt (I-21) at 620 767-8355, or email at cjbrunga@fhsu.edu."

Wa-Shun-Gah Days Parade

Traditionally, the Lake Association has participated in the Wa –Shun-Gah Days parade. Our need is for someone to take charge and lead this effort and others to step up and help. Email us today to volunteer, or call one of the contacts in the newsletter heading. Recommended Bylaws Changes The By-Laws committee, Joyce Hutter, Vern Hay, Jean Krause, Judy Powell and Christy Brungardt met and recommends the following changes be made to the By-Laws: Article VI – Amendments to By-Laws Section 1. Amendments to the By-Laws shall be submitted to the executive committee for approval. Once approved, proposed changes will be placed on a ballot and one ballot will be mailed for each lease. Section 2. Amendments to the By-Laws shall require a majority of ballots received no later than two weeks after the ballots are mailed.

This proposed change removes the restriction that bylaws can be changed only at the annual meeting, and provides all leaseholders the opportunity to vote on changes by ballot. These recommended changes will be voted on at the annual meeting, June 3, 2006

The current bylaws are available on the Lake Association web site http://www.cgclakeassoc.org/
