Chairman Dave Baker introduced and welcomed City Councilpersons Steve Shepard and Anita Thomas.
The minutes of the April meeting were approved as distributed.

Chairman’s Report: President Dave Baker reported the election of Lake Association officers would take place at the June 9 th meeting. Offices open for election are chairperson, vice chairperson, secretary and treasurer. The nominating committee has just about completed their work.

Committee reports:Mayors Special Commission: Dave Baker reported that the city council has not publically addressed the Commission’s recommendation of a compromise proposal. He asked Councilman Steve Shepard if he would like to comment on the progress. Steve related that there had only been two city council meetings since the new administration and there probably was a relatively quiet period during the transition.

Green Thumb: Bill Swofford reported the lake entrance signs and beds are in good shape and all four have been converted to perennials, thanks to the donation from Helen and Warren Beavers. We can still use help with watering on a schedule, especially on the south side of the lake.

Master Plan: Dave talked about the goals of the Master Plan and the need for long term plans that would benefit the whole Morris County community and also lake home owners through economic growth. He emphasized that we need to work with council persons Steve Shepard and Anita Thomas to look toward improvements and plans that benefit not only lake home owners, but also people in town.

New Business : Wah-Shun-Gah Days Festival: We still need volunteers to lead the Lake Associations work on a parade entry. Volunteers are needed to work on ideas and construct a parade entry.

Neighborhood Network: Andy Hutter announced that a directory is now available that list lot numbers and home owners. The list is new, and if you have corrections, or want your names listed different please send an email to the association. The list should make it easier to get to know your neighbors. Neighbor hoods are encouraged to get together and become aquianted.

Independence Day Celebration: Steve and Anita confirmed the City celebration will be June 30 th. The

Activities will begin with a meal and entertainment at 6:30 with fireworks beginning at 9:45.

The Lake Association sponsored Regatta and lake front decorating will be July 3 rd.

Marlow vs City Litigation; Dave Baker talked briefly about the Marlow litigation which apparently involves the methods the city uses to determine and set lot lines. This led to some discussion of surveys and establishing permanent lot boundaries.

Review Permanent Easement: Bill Swofford ask if the association leadership could provide a review of the governance proposals including the permanent easement proposal and the benefits of each. Dave said the governance and financial stability committee would present a review.
