Dr Brungardt reviewed the progress implementing the Master plan. Saying that on the surface it appears that not much is taking place, but wanted everyone to know that behind the scenes considerable activity, doing research, and drafting the Lake Associations proposal to be presented to the special commission on July 17 th. A core group of 9 individuals are working on the proposal, which will also be presented to the city council and lake association. He also commented that the original intent of a special commission was not to be a public forum, but to evaluate different proposals and work out a consensus, however two members of the commission have gone public with their proposals presenting them to the city council, and utilizing the newspaper to promote their proposals. This has had the effect of the commission becoming more of an advisory group.

A letter has been sent to the Morris County Commission, appropriate KDOT Officials, and Legislators, requesting a preliminary study of hard surfacing county roads 1200,1300, and U Avenue. This is the first step in the process of finding funding and engineering for this project.

The Master Plan Task Forces are in the process of becoming standing committees; one example is the continuing work of the beautification committee.

Curt also noted that the north east face of the Dam is in need of maintenance, and expressed concern that the tree root growth may be compromising the integrity of the dam

He also mentioned that we have had conversations with City Administrator Danny Matthews about budgeting for several items: replacement of the unsafe old boat dock at the north boat ramp, the possibility of extended summer work hours for the caretaker, and correcting the installation of the south lake entrance sign on highway 56.

Christie Brungardt thanked all who helped with and participated tin the 4 th of July celebration.

There was discussion about the new no wake ordinance and enforcement of lake regulations.
The general consensus was the new caretaker is having a positive effect on boating and vehicle safety on the lake park.

Meeting adjourned, Andy Hutter, Secretary
